Lake Region coach Gee Roe, in his second season as the Thunder’s head football coach, is hoping to accomplish two key things this year – continue to provide consistency for his program and help build toward the future.
The Thunder will be a young team hoping to improve on last year’s 3-7 record in Roe’s first season.
OFFENSE
Lake Region will be a triple-option team out of the flex bone and will be led by bruising 5-foot-7, 200-pound fullback William Davis.
“A lot of our offense will be what he (Davis) can do,” Roe said. “We hope to use his power running game up the middle to set up our short passing game and perimeter run game.”
Junior Cole Glendening, last year’s junior varsity quarterback, will be the starting varsity quarterback this year. On the wings, he will have senior Kyle Akridge and 6-foot-2 freshman Tyshun Whitty.
