Palisade Bulldog’s Head Coach Joe Ramunno says every year of high school football is a rebuilding year, and that statement couldn’t be any truer for Ramunno and his team this year.
Last year, the Bulldog’s triple option dominated the Western Slope League, but Palisade loses its stable of running backs along with quarterback and thousand yard rusher PD Riddle to graduation. The Bulldogs do return a few guys with game experience including running back Austin Bernal. Bernal was a proven weapon in last year’s system running for just under 850 yards and 12 touchdown as well as another seven scores through the air.
This year won’t be the Bulldogs from years past, but they’re embracing what they’ve got.
