MOORESVILLE—Rally around the team pole, boys. That’s message being spread around the field this season at Mooresville.
Boosting a varsity roster numbering around 60 participants, a number that suits the coaching staff, the Blue Devils are demonstrating their desire to follow the lead of second-season head coach Marty Paxton.
“I’m tickled to death the way the guys are rallying not just around one or two positions, but in full team mode,” Paxton said. “I’m very happy with our numbers because it does give us plenty of talent to choose from. Like all teams, we would always welcome more. So far, they are showing a desire to be in full team support mode. That’s what we like to see.”
A season after piecing together an 8-4 campaign that included a berth in the 4AA state playoffs, Mooresville enters this season with eight returning starters evenly split between the offensive and defensive units.
